CAGR Calculator
CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) is the single most useful return metric for lump-sum investments. It strips out year-to-year volatility and tells you the equivalent constant rate of growth — perfect for comparing mutual funds, stocks, real estate or any investment with a clear start and end value.

Frequently asked
- Is CAGR the same as IRR?
- CAGR is a special case of IRR — the IRR when there's exactly one cashflow in and one cashflow out. As soon as you add intermediate cashflows (SIPs, dividends taken out, partial redemptions), use XIRR instead.
- Can CAGR be negative?
- Yes, if your investment is worth less at the end than at the start. The formula still works as long as both values are positive.
