The forex market, explained without the trading-guru theatre

What the forex market actually is, how currency pairs are quoted, and why most retail traders lose money in it.

Common questions

How much should I risk per trade?

Most professional risk frameworks cap risk per trade at 0.5–2% of account equity. Above that, a normal losing streak (which will happen) starts to seriously impair your ability to trade your edge.

Is forex trading legal in India?

Trading INR-paired forex via SEBI-registered brokers is legal. Off-exchange leveraged forex through unregulated offshore platforms is not.

What's the realistic return for a retail trader?

Far lower than marketing implies. The median retail trader is net negative after costs over multi-year windows. The ones who survive treat it as a craft, not a side hustle.

Trading lives inside finance for a reason. Investing-first thinking and a clean personal-finance setup are the cheap insurance every trader needs.
