Understand the problem
Restate the problem precisely. Interviewers reward candidates who pause, define the contract, and name the guarantees before coding.
Problem statement
You are given an array of integers `nums`, and there is a sliding window of size `k` which is moving from the very left of the array to the very right. You can only see the `k` numbers in the window. Each time the sliding window moves right by one position. Return the max sliding window — an array of the maximum within each window, in left-to-right order.
Example
nums = [1, 3, -1, -3, 5, 3, 6, 7], k = 3 → [3, 3, 5, 5, 6, 7]
Constraints
1 ≤ nums.length ≤ 10⁵ · −10⁴ ≤ nums[i] ≤ 10⁴ · 1 ≤ k ≤ nums.length
